One of the local auto parts places sponsored a meet up of Willys Jeeps. The build of the Big Willy Jeep brought his. This thing is pretty huge. Saw a lot of old Jeeps. Great to see they are still on the road.

When I came out to EJS last year, we stayed in a tiny house at an RV park about 40 minutes north of town. Did it differently this year. Found a condo right in town. It was so nice to be able to come off the trail, wash the Jeeps if we want to, and relax in a nice home.
It was pricey at around $800 a night, but split 4 ways, it’s reasonable.

Spent our first full day in Moab on the Top of the World trail. The trail itself isn’t too difficult. The trip down was harder than going up. But it was the view at the top that made everything worth it. It’s quite a drop off the ledge. Some folks like to drive their Jeeps on the out cropping. I’ll pass. 🙂

You meet people from all over out here. Had a Jeep that was shipped here all the way from Australia.
I wish I had snapped a pic on our way down as we passed a wedding party headed up to the top. Pretty epic way to start a life together.
Well, buying that TPMS setup for the trailer has paid off in spades. But this isn’t even the first tire issue I have had.
Not more than 45 minutes from home, the alarm started going off. Yup, flat tire. There I was, on the side of the freeway, trying to change a flat tire on a trailer. To make matters worse, I couldn’t get the spare off. The lug bolt holding it onto the bracket was stripped and it was just spinning. After a lot of persuasion, it finally came off and I was able to change the tire. I found a spare somewhere in Indiana. I also bought a second spare just in case.
The alarm went off again in Kansas. Another flat. While changing it, I see the tire next to it has a screw in it. Good grief.

Got that one changed as well. So I now had one good spare and one with a screw in it. The drive home is going to be a blast!
On our way to Easter Jeep Safari. Rob, Chris, TJ and I had to stop at Jeep Road!

Seems like I end up at an offroad park on or around my birthday every year. This year, Chris, Mike and I headed down to Burning Rock Off-road in West Virginia. They had catered to four wheel ATVs, dirt bikes and side-by-sides. But after Rausch Creek took over managing the park, they started widening trails to accommodate Jeeps. We rented a cabin on site. It was a blast! I can’t wait to go back.
I didn’t even mind the mud this time.
Took a trip up to Southington to meet up with some friends and play on some rocks.

Took the Jeep out to Rausch Creek for Freak Fest 2018. I was a guide this year, so I don’t have many pictures. It was foggy and a bit rainy. Which means we had some mud, but still had a lot of fun!

Good to be back home. That was a lot of miles. My first ever trip to Moab and Easter Jeep Safari is in the books!
Had a blast. TJ and I shared the driving on the way there and back. That part of the country is just plain awesome. Unbelievable. Pictures don’t do it justice.
I even got to meet Ian Johnson from Velocity’s Extreme Off Road TV show. And I got to meet a real legend in the automotive industry, Jessi Combs – the fastest woman on 4 wheels.
The trip wasn’t without its drama, however. I got the flu on the drive out that I couldn’t shake. We ended up skipping the second day of trails. Coming out of Cliffhanger, on the second to last day, I busted a brake line. Found a replacement, but it would have been too short to go offroad with. I would have ripped it apart.
I can’t wait to go back. Maybe next year. 😉
