Trying out some 7018 on the new welder. Haven’t run any SMAW for 2 1/2 years and that was only once or twice. This machine makes it seem too easy.

The tips I was given for welding on this truss.
The tips I was given for welding on this truss. Clamp, clamp, clamp. Tack, tack, tack. Move around, don’t let heat build up in any one area. Move slowly and let it cool. Took us about 6 hours between cleaning, prepping, preheating and welding.
