EJS 2018

Getting things prepped for Easter Jeep Safari. Greasing all the fittings. Some WD-40 on the control arm ends (they are rusty AF – I might need to replace some).

I have an axle seal leak (minor) so I drained the front diff just to be sure – everything looked really good.

EJS Prep Begins

Time to grease the control arms and make sure everything is in order for the trip to Moab, Utah for my very first Easter Jeep Safari.

I am going to have to do something with the suspension on this thing. It is just too far rusted.

New wheels for the mule

Now I really need to get working on the new shop. Can’t have this getting all covered in snow!

I’ve been wanting a truck ever since I traded my Dakota in for the Jeep. With EJS 2018 around the corner, decided to pull the trigger and get something I can use as a winter daily, plus it’ll have enough power to pull the Jeep on a trailer cross country.

Trailer has been ordered. Just need to wait for it to be built and delivered to the dealer in a few weeks.

Organized-ish

Got the tool cabinets and chests semi-organized in the garage. I’ve never had this much space before. Everything fits so nicely and I still have room for the Jeeps.

New stable for the mule

Haven’t had any time to work on the Jeep and probably won’t for a while. Mostly, because of work and we just moved into a new house. Finally, I can park both my JK and the wife’s Cherokee in the same garage!

So much room for activities! I still have a lot of crap to move around, but both vehicles will be in the garage within the week.

The new property has enough space that there are already some initial ideas floating around about building a 20×40 shop attached to the back of the garage.

And it’s my wife that is pushing me to build it!

Customer service is key

I have to say, Adams Driveshaft company is the best at customer service. I was noticing some issues with my drive shaft recently, When I went to look at it, the slip joint had rusted to the point it was seized. I called Adams for some advice. They didn’t even hesitate to offer to send me out a brand new replacement.

Steering Part 2

I removed the steering stabilizer relocation bracket and just attached it to a hole on the track bracket.

It’s definitely at a shallower angle. Still not satisfied with it.

I want to get the tie rod end of the stabilizer higher and the other end lower. But there is too much horizontal or vertical space between the tie rod and the bracket.

I think I’m going to eventually make a bracket that LOWERS the axle side mount and eliminates the vertical space. That should put it horizontal above the tie rod.

To be continued. Some day.
