Only took me 3 years to finish this little cabinet for our downstairs powder room. 😂 Made from square tube, angle iron and fake antique wood. I turned the handles on the lathe. And used a chemical to rust then metal before sealing it. I like it. Happy with how it turned out.

Exploring mountain passes in Ouray, CO
Took the 1,668 mile trip to Ouray, Colorado from Ohio with some friends to explore the mountain passes and old mines. What an epic trip. We drive Engineer Pass, Black Bear Pass, Imogene Pass, Ophir Pass, Poughkeepsie Gulch, Corkscrew Pass and Hurricane Pass. We even took the time to take a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. And I topped it off with a visit to the Field of Dreams movie site.
The generosity of strangers never ceases to amaze me.
The generosity of strangers never ceases to amaze me. I reached out on a local community Fakebook group to see if my town had any other hobby machinists. Hoping to make a friend or two. Not only did I make a new friend, but since he recently retired, he gifted me some of the tools he still had but no longer needed. Wow. Just wow. Made my day. I am honored to be the new custodian of these tools.

Blast Cabinet Improvements
I bought this mini sand blast cabinet off the interwebs some years ago. It’s good for small projects. Somewhere along the line, I broke the top plexi glass. I needed to replace it, and I figured while I was at it, I would make some improvements to media delivery system and vacuum hook ups.
Making knobs for my bathroom cabinet
I’ve been working on this bathroom cabinet, on and off, for probably 2-1/2 years. I’m finally down to the last couple things and figured I might as well try and get this moved to the “done” side of the list.
I always figured I was going to make some kind of a knob, but now that I have the lathe, I’m going to turn them from some scrap!
Finally finished this bathroom cabinet I have been making, on and off, for about 2-1/2 years.
Finally finished this bathroom cabinet I have been making, on and off, for about 2-1/2 years. 😂 I made the entire thing from 3/4″ square tube and angle and some expanded metal, all TIG welded. Then added some antiqued wood planks. Last thing to do was to make these knobs. Check the link in my bio for a video.

Latest auction score.
Lates auction score. 18” x 24” grade B surface plate for less than $40. Might need to build a cart/stand for this one. Debating on if I should keep the Starrett 12” x 18” since my shop is on the small size.
