I bought a steady rest for my South Bend lathe that needs some work. There are quite a few missing parts. Sure, I could buy every missing piece, but what’s the fun in that?

Removing the Drive Train from the K&T 2HL Horizontal Milling Machine
In this video I remove the drive train from the K&T mill. I start with the drive clutch and pulley, the power feed/rapid traverse bracket and take off gears, and then pull the entire gearbox from the column.

I removed the drive train from my K&T 2HL horizontal mill. My only purpose was to clean the insides of the column real good of all the gunk that’s collected in there over the last 80 years. That, and to inspect the gears for excessive wear or broken teeth.
Removing the Coolant Pump from the K&T 2HL Horizontal Milling Machine

Dial Indicator Repairs
Some before and after if some dial indicators repaired by Mark Ratkowski of M.R. Tool Repair. Mark takes each one apart and cleans and lubricates as necessary and replaces scratched crystals. I buy these super cheap and send them to mark to be refurbished. Excellent value for the price. My Federal dial collection keeps growing.

Check out my other won bids in my latest YouTube video as well as some shop updates and new channel stickers.

Using a Water Jet to Make a Welding Helmet Tank Hook
I wanted a better way to store my welding helmets with my welding carts. Putting them on the bottle valve isn’t a very convenient way to do that. This is not a new solution, but it’s my interpretation on the idea. I designed a hook that can be mounted on the welding gas bottle.
