Managed to get the saddle off the knee of the Kearney & Trecker 2HL. This is the last major component to come off the mill. I was advised NOT to take the knee off, plus to do so would probably be impossible in my current shop. Video link in my bio.

The table gib for the K&T 2HL horizontal milling machine has a lot wrong with it. Not only is it a banana, it has a lot of scoring and is worn about .013” as best I can measure. The bow is easy enough to fix quickly in the arbor press. And I would love to be able to grind it and scrape it but that is beyond my capability or budget. Or even make a new one. I’ll shim it when I put it back in. Maybe someday this machine will get a real rebuild but until then, I need to make it good enough.
Nothing sketchy going on here.
The eagle has landed!
Making a few chips tonight for an upcoming project.

Yet another boring job, although this one is interesting. This is a part to the suspension on a large steam locomotive that needed a bushing replaced. The hole for the bushing was wallowed out, so I bored the hole a little larger. We started making the new bushing last week when we noticed how bad the hole was.
