A few weeks ago, some friends of mine and I traveled out to the San Juan National Forest to explore the mountain passes and old gold and silver mines. What an epic trip. Black Bear Pass was the pinnacle of the trip. Breathtaking views. Perfectly clear skies. Even took a ride on an old narrow gauge railroad. Awesome way to see an extraordinary part of this great nation. Can’t wait to go back again.

Only took me 3 years to finish this little cabinet for our downstairs powder room. 😂 Made from square tube, angle iron and fake antique wood. I turned the handles on the lathe. And used a chemical to rust then metal before sealing it. I like it. Happy with how it turned out.

The generosity of strangers never ceases to amaze me.
The generosity of strangers never ceases to amaze me. I reached out on a local community Fakebook group to see if my town had any other hobby machinists. Hoping to make a friend or two. Not only did I make a new friend, but since he recently retired, he gifted me some of the tools he still had but no longer needed. Wow. Just wow. Made my day. I am honored to be the new custodian of these tools.

Finally finished this bathroom cabinet I have been making, on and off, for about 2-1/2 years.
Finally finished this bathroom cabinet I have been making, on and off, for about 2-1/2 years. 😂 I made the entire thing from 3/4″ square tube and angle and some expanded metal, all TIG welded. Then added some antiqued wood planks. Last thing to do was to make these knobs. Check the link in my bio for a video.
