I was given this 1940s Craftsman Drill Press (103.0303) by someone on one of the local FB community pages. It was missing some parts, but I figured I could find them or make what was missing. In this first part of this new series, I figure out how to disassemble the machine to identify what parts I need to source.

I plumbed the coolant/cutting oil lines and installed the parking attachment on the 2HL. I also moved the head over to the parking attachment for now.

This my contribution to this year’s video challenge, #roughcut2022. I have been wanting to make a simple fly cutter for a while, so I grabbed some scrap off the shelf and made one. I had fun making it. But I think the shaper may be a bit faster and gives me a better finish. Perhaps I am a little rough on this new tool. 😉
