Had a great time hanging out with @daveclarkthepatternguy at his foundry today. I learned a bit about casting patterns and I even got to help him pour some brass for a customer job. That was a LOT of fun! Dave is a super nice guy and has a YouTube channel as well. Give him a follow and a subscribe!
FOR SALE SCRAP VALUE
FOR SALE @ SCRAP VALUE
The organization I volunteer at, The Midwest Railway Preservation Society, has had this partially disassembled Fosdick Machine Tool Co. radial drill for better than 10 years. Unfortunately, we probably will never have the time or opportunity to reassemble it. And it’s taking up space. We are going to scrap it unless we can find someone that would like to buy it at whatever current scrap value is. I would hate to see a WWII era machine go to scrap 😢, so we are hoping someone will want to save or or at least want some of it for parts.
WE CAN LOAD.
We aren’t going to part it out piecemeal, but if someone wanted a piece that’s already apart, we can do that. But if you just need a handle off the head, you’re going to have to buy the whole head. 🙂
I don’t think we will let it sit here for longer than a couple of weeks. If you are interested in talking to us, contact Steve Korpos at midwestrailway@gmail.com or (216) 781-3629.
The machine is located in our rail yard at 2800 W 3rd St
Cleveland, OH 44113.

I needed to make a 6” hole in some .250” plate. I don’t have a plasma cutter. And I suck at using a torch. A friend recommended a Harbor Freight hole saw and run it slow with lots of oil. Worked like a champ and the hole saw is in great shape! That squeal though! 😂😂😂
